Dr. Thomas A. Adams II is currently an associate professor in Department of Chemical Engineering at McMaster University. He received his bachelors one in Chemical Engineering and the other one in Computer Science from the Michigan State University in 2003, then he completed his Ph.D. in 2008 at the University of Pennsylvania under the supervision of Prof. Warren D. Seider. After his Ph.D. education, he attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral appointment under Prof. Paul Barton between 2008 and 2010.
Dr. Adams` research focuses on process systems engineering, and particularly in the design, optimization, and control of energy systems. He has performed influential research on improving environment friendly and more efficient next generation power plants. One of his prior work which is related to the power generation from coal and natural gas using solid oxide fuel cells to achieve zero atmospheric emissions and 100% carbon dioxide capture has been featured in the popular media including Scientific American, Popular Science, and National Public Radio.
He has published over 50 research articles in well-known scientific journals. His most recent book is Learn Aspen Plus in 24 Hours which was published in 2017. The book is an excellent source to learn Aspen Plus in a short time with very-well designed tutorials.
